Image & Time wins big in radio for its Union Bank Uncle Thomas campaign.
Creativity week, an annual week long event, which serves as a platform for marketing communication professionals and students from across west Africa to network, learn, compete and get recognised, commenced from the 19th of March to the 24th of March at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The programme was organised by Chini Productions, the Cannes lion official festival representative in Nigeria. The event kicked off with several bespoke learning programmes for young west and central African professionals, aged 30 and below, by industry experts such as Daniel Emeka, Maurice Ugwonoh, Suziette Ukeh Agazie, Seyi Owolawi. The event continued with a seminar with several presentations from seasoned media and marketing gurus such as Bolaji Alausa, Akorede Zakariya, Tunde Bada, Fade Ogunro and so many others.
The young professionals also had the opportunity to compete in several competitions during the occasion, such as the Young Lion’s competition, Young Pitcher integrated competition, Miami Ad school scholarship competition and the Roger Hatchuel Academy prize.
The event rounded up with the pitcher award’s gala night ceremony on Saturday Night. The Pitcher awards jury was headed by the trio of Lanre Adisa, MD/CCO of Noah’s ark, Lagos, Agatha Emina, GM, Wild Fusion, Lagos and Yomi Badejo Okunsanya, CEO/CMC Connect Marketing for the Heritage, Innovation and Channel categories respectively.
Image & Time, a part of the Republicom Group won the Silver award in the heritage category for audio for their Union bank Uncle Thomas radio ad. The Silver award was the highest prize in that category.
Image and time is a strategic design and advertising agency that has worked with several iconic brands such as Union Bank, Gulder, Lucozade e.t.c. The award was received by the Creative Director of Image & Time, Akorede Zakariya, who was one of the speakers at the creativity seminar. He presented alongside Omotola Oyebanjo, Head of strategic communications and Media, Union Bank.
The winning agencies would have their works compiled in the international edition of the special Cannes Lions issue, volume 3/2018 that will be distributed worldwide. The winning works will also be celebrated online on the Lürzer’s Archive website.
